Experience

Amie Latterman brings more than 25 years of nonprofit strategic leadership experience to her executive roles, including strategic planning, change management, external relations, public relations, public affairs, fundraising, financial oversight, board relations, marketing/outreach, event planning and communications.

As the Chief Advancement Officer, Amie joined Children’s Council in 2016, and built the long- and short-term strategic resource development plan to grow organizational revenue 300% from $79 million to $245 million, sustaining that via government contracts and philanthropic support of all kinds. In addition, she supported the strategic positioning and branding of Children’s Council as a thought leader in the early care and education sector. And, she served as an organizational advisor to the Board and Management on public policy priorities and strategy at the local and state level. She served as Co Chair of the San Francisco citywide Childcare Planning & Advisory Council’s Universal Prekindergarten Mixed Delivery Planning Committee.

She most recently served as the development director for SPUR, a Bay Area urban planning and policy organization, for a decade. In that role, Amie managed a team of more than 100 executive-level volunteers and 8 staff fundraisers to raise or generate income to support a $6.1M, highly diversified annual operating budget, raising more than $27M over her last five years in the role, plus $6.1M in endowment funds. She was responsible for the annual fund, membership, special events and earned income. Prior to joining SPUR, she worked as the outreach director for Child Family Health International, a social enterprise, nonprofit organization in San Francisco. In addition, Amie spent several years in the field of Japan-U.S. relations and cross-cultural training. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College. 

Amie was a founding board member of the national Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN), and spent several years on the advisory board of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of YNPN. She served for nearly a decade on the Board for Parents for Public Schools San Francisco, holding officer positions as President and Treasurer, overseeing the development of strategic plans and two executive transitions.
